Share a journey

Let someone read your journal, or invite a travel companion to help write it. These are two different kinds of access.

Choose the right kind of link

Only the journey owner manages sharing. Both kinds of link can be forwarded, so send them only to people you trust.

  • View link: anyone with the link can read the journey, view or download its photos, and watch videos placed in the story, without signing in or having Pro. They cannot edit it or upload media. Video support is in local development, not deployed yet.
  • Editor invitation: the recipient signs in and accepts the invitation before they can contribute. Editors can change journey details and all blocks, including memories added by someone else.

Let someone read

  1. Open Share this journey and turn on Enable read-only link. Sharing links stay active until you turn them off or replace them.
  2. Choose Copy link and send it to the people you want to show.
  3. To stop sharing, turn off the read-only link. To replace it, choose Replace link and send the new one to the people who should still have access.

A reader’s access in a browser lasts up to 24 hours. If it expires, they can reopen the original link while it is still active.

Revoking a view link stops new journey access and new video playback credentials through that link, including for people who already opened it. Already issued signed video credentials can remain valid for up to five minutes. It cannot remove photos, videos, screenshots or other copies someone has already saved.

Invite companions to contribute

  1. Turn on Enable editor invitation in the sharing controls. The saved link stays available to view and copy whenever you reopen sharing.
  2. Send the link to each companion you want to invite. Multiple people can join as editors. Each person needs to sign in and choose to accept it; opening the link alone does not add them.
  3. Once they join, they can help edit the journey and use Open media bin to upload into All media. Everyone’s uploads share the journey owner’s storage allowance, not each editor’s. Video uploads require Pro on the account doing the uploading; the owner’s Pro status does not give other editors video upload access.

Starting with photos from the whole group? Leave the timeline empty while everyone contributes to the media bin. Wait for everyone’s uploads to finish, then preview Generate from photos and confirm with Generate journey. Generation uses images only, not videos. You can all edit the result afterward. See Media and storage below for the full upload-to-journey flow.

Turning off or replacing an invitation stops new people from joining through it. Turning it back on restores the same link. Neither action removes editors who have already joined.

Remove an editor or leave a journey

To end an existing editor’s access, remove that person from the journey. Removing them also prevents that account from rejoining through another invitation. There is currently no undo or unblock action, so use this carefully.

This restriction applies to that account, not to anonymous view links or other accounts. Revoke the view link too if you no longer want it to provide access.

An editor who leaves voluntarily can join again with a valid invitation. Leaving does not remove memories they already contributed.
